Abbreviated News: CARP Seattle Hosts First Retreat

Contributed by Ayelen Maddox

CARP Seattle held our first 1-Day Divine Principle Retreat on May 21st, 2022, at the Windermere house in Seattle, WA. The retreat consisted of icebreakers and volleyball, lunch, discussions, and three Divine Principle presentations given by Mr. Neville Lebrooy and Pastor Rosie Muyongo. These were on the topics based on the first two chapters of the Divine Principle. At the end we also had reflection time and received feedback from our participants. After the retreat ended, two of our participants stayed for several hours to play cards, volleyball, have dinner, and watch a movie together.

The four new participants were all students from Shoreline Community College who have been studying the Divine Principle since September of last year. They each expressed their appreciation for the workshop and said that they had a lot of fun. We also had time for short testimonies at the end of the workshop, and one of our participants expressed that he had forgotten a lot of the content of the first two chapters since he read them so long ago. He was grateful to revisit the topics and hear from us in more detail. Overall, we felt we created a great atmosphere and environment for our participants where they could feel comfortable and welcomed into our community.
