An Awakening in CARP Hawaii

Contributed by Rena Saito

Once again, we have completed our semesterly Divine Principle 3-day workshop. This month was very packed for our fellow CARP leaders, but we all still did an incredible job on creating and coordinating this workshop. This time we did something a little different where we did a responsibility that we haven’t done before. Tamae Seto and Shawn Chai stepped up to be our external coordinator. Rena Saito took on the role of internal coordinator, photographer, and lecturer (Introduction to Restoration and Parallels of History). Shawn Chai was also a lecturer with Reyna Harding for Principle of Creation. Tsurue Matsuba was the lecturer for The Human Fall. Lastly, Keiko Nakama gave a nice lecture for the introduction to our founders, Rev. and Mrs. Moon.

Each day we had different guests come. On Friday, one student who has joined many club activities recently participated. This was her first time to study the Divine Principle. She was very open about it and learned a lot from the Principle of Creation. Joining CARP events has opened her relationship with God and her faith.

On Saturday, Niza and Angelina participated. Then Angelina attended again on Sunday. Niza has been a CARP member for over a year and Angelina has been a CARP member for a semester. Last Awaken Angelina came and had a great time and this time she had a great time as well. Both sisters expressed their gratitude towards CARP and our CARP leaders.

“I learned so many things and got to express what I thought. Food was great and I learned good insights from others. I learned more about the holy spirit, Jesus, restoration, 2nd coming, and the steps for the new messiah. It was great to learn that the restoration is not just pushed onto one individual but requires everyone's help."

“During Awaken, I was able to reflect, share my experiences and opinions, meet and make new friends all the while learning about God and the bible and strengthening my faith more. Ever since I joined CARP, I met amazing people and also strengthened my relationship with God. I learned to reflect more through our weekly studies and found myself becoming more open-book. It also prompted me to change negative habits, so I am very thankful!"
