Dallas CARP: Discover Purpose

Contributed by Jinil Fleischman

On May 16th-22th, 2022, Dallas CARP held a 7-Day Divine Principle (DP) retreat. The retreat was held in Blanco, TX, at the Tejas Trails site. It was the culmination of the entire school year's activities. There were a total of 27 participants. For seven of them, it was the first time they heard the entire content of the DP. Presentations were given by Rev. Hideyuki Sakai, pastor for the Family Federation community of Dallas-Fort Worth.

The days consisted of a morning activity, breakfast, two Divine Principle presentations and discussion, lunch, afternoon sports, a third presentation, dinner, and an evening activity. Each day was packed, but the joy that was experienced gave everyone energy to invest into each part of the program. By the end of the week, it felt like barely a day had passed.

The spirit of the retreat was incredibly warm and friendly. It felt like everyone was family, even though it was the first time many of them met one another with some experiencing language barriers. Everyone truly felt like brothers and sisters. Experiencing that kind of unconditional love and acceptance and hearing the profound truth of the Divine Principle made the retreat a life-changing experience for many.

All the participants were excited to continue their spiritual growth and to build stronger relationships with each other. We look forward to continuing our Dallas CARP activities throughout the summer and in the next school year!
