CARP Bay Area Begins 40 Day Mural Project

CARP Bay Area Begins 40 Day Mural Project

For the past two to three months, a small team has been meeting to create a design to paint on the wall along Sobrante park on Edes & 105th Ave. For Martin Luther King Jr Day this year, it was wonderful to see people come out eager to serve whether that was to help with the mural or another local project in the Sobrante Park Neighborhood and all over Oakland. Volunteers from CARP, Higher Ground, and the Bay Area Family Church gathered together to begin the mural project by first being reminded of Dr. King’s spirit of serving and the hopes and goals for the mural we are painting.

Chapter Leader Spotlight: Marcus Orlando Fuller, Jr.

Chapter Leader Spotlight: Marcus Orlando Fuller, Jr.

My name is Marcus Orlando Fuller Jr and I'm a CARP Las Vegas member. I think many people exaggerate when they say that “so and so saved my life”. Still, I think that's the only way to describe the immense and deep impact that CARP has had on me. Over the last two years, I have had countless other experiences with the CARP members, each one showing me time and time again that the culture we have in CARP is one of family and love. Even though I have an older sister and three younger brothers, I believe that once I met CARP, I finally understood what it meant to have a family.
