Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, known as Father and Mother Moon respectively.

Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, lived their lives for God and for world peace. It was also to help participants realize the need for young leadership.

From December 16 to 18th, CARP Los Angeles hosted a 3-Day Principle Workshop with around 50 college students in attendance. Mrs. Naoko Hiraki, parental mentor to CARP LA, gave the presentations, supported by Maiko Shimogawara.

The most important concept covered today was the importance of true love coming from God. It is clear that, if we exchange true love amongst each other, we will achieve heaven on Earth. - CARP ECC Member

Alumni Series: Satomi Kikuchi, Making the Most Out of CARP

Alumni Series: Satomi Kikuchi, Making the Most Out of CARP

My name is Satomi Kikuchi. I graduated from California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA) in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology-Rehabilitation and Therapeutic Exercise. CARP only became an official club at CSULA for my final year as a student, but because I’ve been able to stay involved as an alumni, I’ve been with CARP for about a year and a half now.

As CARP CSULA grew bigger and I became more involved and had more opportunities to witness the impact CARP had on people’s lives, my perspective about it changed completely and my motivation for being involved became more personal. I saw so much beauty in the genuine relationships CARP students create among each other based on honest and open conversations about things that matter. I realized just how valuable it is to have a place where students can voice their own opinions about things that are important to them.

CARP Leaders Research the Principle

CARP Leaders Research the Principle

From January 12-13, we invited student leaders, CARP mentors, volunteers, National Staff, and the National Board of Directors to join us in a Curriculum Intensive. We went in depth into new educational material for the new year!

“I originally came here to learn a lot and not make many friends, but I met the coolest people I’ve ever met in a long time. It’s a big deal for me personally. It’s insane how one organization can bring so many people together with so many different backgrounds around a core set of values. It’s an incredible and unexplainable thing.” - Andrew Hunt, CARP Grand Rapids, MI

CARP LA's Turning Point, 2018

From December 26 to January 1 (2019!), CARP LA hosted their annual Turning Point Workshop at the International Peace Education Center (IPEC) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

About 100 high school and college students attended this week-long deep dive into Unification Principle. While most attendees were from Los Angeles, few came from New Jersey, Indiana, Las Vegas, and Bay Area.

“The Turning Point for me was me asking God what is it that He wants for me. And He said Love. Love was the one thing He had throughout it all. I realized throughout my life I felt so much love, but how many times did I really give that love to people and express gratitude toward God and Jesus? My determination going back home is to share God’s love. I want to be a vessel for God’s love. I always want to think about God.” - Keisetsu Nakamura, CARP NJIT

CARP LA Joins ACLC Outreach to Christian Churches for Rally

On Sunday, November 18th, CARP LA participated in an event hosted by the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC) in partnership with Bishop Noel Jones and the City of Refuge in Gardena, CA.

This year, CARP LA helped with outreach to different churches to invite them to this year’s event titled Christianity in Crisis. CARP LA’s involvement was part of practicing CARP’s values of bringing people together and going beyond ethnic, racial, religious, and denominational lines. For ACLC, involving CARP brought a youthful spirit to these churches which suffer a declining number of young people attending every year.
