CARP New Jersey explores the Heart of God

CARP New Jersey (New Jersey Institute of Technology, Montclair State University) and Philadelphia (Community College of Philadelphia) teamed up to hold a four day retreat at the Unification Theological Seminary in Barrytown, New York from January 5th-8th, 2022. To ring in the new year, the participants determined to experience God through in-depth study of CARP’s core principles, bonding as brothers and sisters, and setting new determinations for 2022. The workshop centered around the theme, “The Heart of God.” God’s profound joy, sorrow, and hope throughout history was captured in the presentations, bringing life to the theme of the workshop. To conclude, CARP’s mission was expressed, motivating the students to impact and convey God’s heart to their respective campuses.

CARP New Jersey talks True Love and Life Goals at Campus Event

On December 4th, CARP New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) hosted a campus wide event titled Peace Starts With Me: Standing for True Love.

“Going through this event, it made me see how life is tremendously better if we all dedicate ourselves to a higher purpose and not focus on the worldly things around us like fame and riches. You start to realize that life is so much more beautiful and fulfilling once you pursue goals with love at its center.” - Erik Fernandez, CARP NJIT member

Chapter Leader Spotlight: Takafumi Mashiko

Chapter Leader Spotlight: Takafumi Mashiko

As a chapter leader of CARP, one motto that I kept to myself at heart is that the best leader shows by example rather than words. Perhaps it’s because I have challenged myself and have gone through a trying path, that for some reason it’s so easy for me to fall in love with people. When I see a person going out of their comfort zone, even for one second, because I know the challenge behind it, I find deep appreciation towards that person.

I’m grateful to be part of CARP, and my time in CARP has most definitely shaped who I am today. I was able to learn on a deeper level the heart of God and the heart of my brothers and sisters. My life is for the better, and I’m proud to have been part of CARP.
